Finally got that choices roomview shit sorted today. What a nightmare that was - I’m not sure if Choices will be happy with it but at least everything is working at the moment. We’ll deal with the fallout of it later - hopefully its ok.

I’ve had so little sleep yet I’m not tired. I feel like I should be but I’m not so that is super weird. Dunno why exactly, but hey such is life 🤷‍♂️

I spoke to Guillhermo Gasperi briefly today about learning to sail - hopefully this shit kicks off soon and I can get wet. He’s just come out of micro heart surgery so it’s good that he’s alive - now I’m going to start the brain rape of him and take all of his knowledge. 😍

Reached out to big Bart and apparently my AFP check has been posted already. $50 from aud to panama via Fedex 🤙. Giggity giggity giggity goo. The amount of fucking stress I feel over this thing is astronomical - I just want my PR approved so I can come and go as I need from this country

I’ve rebooked a new storage site today. What a fucking Jam that was. It’s actually been a huge relief to get this all sorted.

Basically, here is the outcome:

  • Talked to Jorge about long term motorbike storage
  • Purchased front and rear paddock stands for triumh
  • Booked a storage space that was 3x bigger (4.5m x 3m) than my older on (3.6m x 1.5m) for only an extra $18/month 💥

The gear set me back 500 bones, but I have no regrets on this.

Knowing that the bike is off the ground and the side stand is worth it. I don’t care about the tyres and battery too much, but the fact I can get the chain, the rims, the forks etc oiled up and become rust proof PLUS be immune from falling over due to recent Melb earth quakes makes me a very happy boy.

I really should have done this before I left, but I guess the bike took 1.5 years to get its parts in due to COVID and some part of me always doubted I’d actually be away this long. Hindsight is 20-20 and I won’t dwell on this, but one lesson I’ve learned from travelling is have a storage option from everything. Be it motorbike paddock stands through to suitcase packing cubes the old adage holds; everything has its place and a place for everything - but always inside a box.

On top of this great result, my boy Jorge is going to get my Motorbike from Starcycle and store it long term for me in the new storage space.

This involves:

  • getting the bike from Starcycles
  • riding it to the storage unit
  • covering the forks etc with hydraulic oil
  • using the front and rear stands to lift the bike up
  • putting fuel stabiliser into the tank with petrol
  • blocking all engine entry points from moisture
  • covering the bike with a cover
  • disconnecting the battery
  • whatever other stuff he needs to do.

This is an awesome thing to do - it gets me out of the constant worrying about how my machine is performing, which makes me a very happy person.

On top of this, I’m getting Adam to move all of my stuff from my old storage unit into the new one, including the Scooter that sitting in his front yard rusting away. Basically all of my possessions will be living in the same place, and should be somewhat safely psuedo-hermetically sealed. This is a massive win for me personally and really lets me sort this part of my life out, and lets me cross this off my list of things to be worried about.

Really, really, really happy with finally taking action on this.
