Tuesday, October 24

Gavin and I had a massive, no sleep, alcohol-fueled and cocaine-enhanced night last night. We had no sleep and dragged outselves out of the house at 6:30am to get down to Flamenco by 7:00am. We had to catch the ferry out to Isla Saboga because Juan had left the day before with the charter group.

To say I was rough was an understatement - the coke was brutally rough and was lingering, so I had the great idea to drop an ounce of mushrooms on the ride over to see what happened.

Fuck me sideways and call me Aleesha - that was a tactical error. I was so fried I couldn’t really move, and the 90 minute ride over was full of an incessantly loud engine roar and terrible Latin American music.

We got to Saboga and did a 45 minute walk around the island from the ferry terminal to the playa that I know. Juan looked at me, laughed, and said to have a swim. The cooling ocean immediately calmed me down - great shit. He said:

Doing coke and mushrooms together is like accelerating whilst your breaks are on.

I ended up having to crash on the boat for an hour or so - I’ve always found that a simple, sleep-induced brain reset is the way to go. I ended up crashing out on the deck for maybe 30 minutes, got sunburned to hell but I felt alive again.

The rest of the first day was Gav getting to know everyone, having a few beers etc. Juan and I hit the mushrooms and weed HARD, right as a thunderstorm rolled in. Have you ever tripped balls on a boat whilst there is a massive thunderstorm outside? It is, far and away, the greatest experience of my life. Peering through a porthole and seeing massive thunder strikes, and after the flash there were blue geometric shapes flying at me whilst the rain was all around us was just incredible. I can’t really describe how amazingly therapeutic the entire thing was.
