Ok so after eating 700gr of steak last night I woke up and didn’t need to destroy the toilet. What a victory - I was sure I’d have to shit out a protein log to end all protein log shits :)
Neil, Ace and I all went and watched the boxing (Canelo) and the UFC. Was a good way to start the day. After that I went and got a haircut - for $20 or whatever I’m paying its really worth it to feel like a legend.
I spent a lot of time configuring my new neovim today. Its not just neovim, I also spent a lot of time kind of normalising all of my brew stuff. There was lots of binaries that can be managed by brew that I had manually downloaded, and now most of them (I think) have been moved entirely into a Brewfile and saved in git. I also got all of the zsh stuff standardised so I should be able to rebuild dramatically easier than I have in the past.
The attempt for both neovim and brew was successful enough that I finally used it to set up my work laptop after 4/5? months of being there. The fact I have replicable environments across machines now is awesome. The only missing feature is that I think wezterm requires absolute paths for background images, and since the profiles are differently named it means I can’t get it to reconcile.
Its amazing how much difference this makes to me psychologically - having standardised operating environments really makes me happy, and this new Adam-inspired vim makes me like working with computers again.
Maddy sent me a message today and wanted to know if I liked an aussie country artist. I’d never heard of him but I said sure - she want’s me to come to melbourne and see him with her on the 28th of October so I’m going. I know she’s having relationship problems at the moment - we spoke the other night and she confessed some of her secrets to me. I told her how I like to keep my women - exposed to everyone they know, especially their family.
